Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 pcs. eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pc. 4-oz pack bittersweet chocolate bar with almond nougat, chopped
  • 1 cup hazelnuts, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C).
  2. Grease and lightly flour cookie sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well after each addition.
  6. Stir in chocolate and nuts.
  7. Divide dough into 2 equal parts. On floured surface, shaped dough into 2 logs – 14 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, and 1 inch thick. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Removed to a cutting board and cool for 5 minutes.
  9. Cut into 3/4-inch-thick diagonal slices and return to cookie sheet, standing upright.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes more or until slightly dry.
  11. Cool completely on wire racks.
